Carbide Partners invests its own capital in attractive private equity opportunities. We work actively with talented senior operating executives and outside private equity investors, identifying and arranging the funding for principal investment transactions.

America Builders SupplyIn 2011, an investment affiliate of Carbide Partners, in partnership with a private equity fund and management, acquired the assets of American Builders Supply, the largest independent supplier of doors, windows and trusses to homebuilders in Florida. ADDITIONAL INVESTMENT INTERESTS

In the automotive and industrial manufacturing sector, we're looking for:

  • Tier I and Tier II suppliers of automotive parts
  • Suppliers of components for the heavy truck, off-highway and agricultural markets
  • Providers of high precision, tight tolerance components for critical applications in the industrial and aerospace sectors
  • Willing to invest in companies in bankruptcy and financially or operationally distressed situations
  • Revenues:  $10 million to $500 million
  • EBITDA:  Negative to $50 million


In the building products industry, we're looking for opportunities to invest in distributors of drywall and other building materials that would benefit from additional capital and our strategic and operational resources:

  • Primary focus on distributors of drywall, steel framing, ceiling products, insulation and related interior finishing products
  • Additional business lines of interest include roofing supplies, siding, stucco, metal products, lumber, windows and doors, tools and equipment, tile and flooring, decking, fasteners and other products
  • Potential transactions include recapitalizations, control investments, 100% sale situations, DIP loans, mezzanine investments, and purchases of distressed debt securities
  • Willing to invest in companies in bankruptcy and financially or operationally distressed situations
  • Revenues:  $10 million to $300 million
  • EBITDA:  Negative to $20 million
